ABOUT US
We offer comprehensive training for all groups of people involved in the conservation of built cultural heritage. The trainings and certificates are designed for employees of public institutions, companies and non-profit organisations who work in the area of heritage preservation.
We offer certified training on EQF level 4 and 5, which is recognised and acknowledged in the whole of Europe and will be required as a prerequisite for future public tenders. Our trainings combine many years of experience, both in the preservation of historic monuments and in the field of training and further education, thus guaranteeing rapid learning success in a pleasant learning environment. We aim to provide state-of-the art information on monument preservation and the competences required by owners and managers of historic buildings. In addition to training, certification and validation activities we also offer Update Workshops on a regular basis. As a consequence, we create the perfect conditions for excellent learning results and highest customer satisfaction.

THE EUROPEAN HERITAGE ACADEMY
“THE EUROPEAN HERITAGE ACADEMY“ is an internationally certified initiative in the area of further education and training, which was launched by Burghauptmannschaft Österreich (BHÖ) in cooperation with The Federal Monuments Authority Austria | Informations- und Weiterbildungszentrum Baudenkmalpflege in the Charterhouse Mauerbach. BHÖ launched the EU project “MODI-FY” three years ago, in the course of which an internationally certified programme for further education and training in the area of heritage preservation was developed. The programme, which is based on practical experience, targets all types of occupational groups working with and on historic buildings. The seminar centre and practical training facilities are located at Charterhouse Mauerbach, which is Austria’s education and training hub in the field of monument preservation. Officially, the EUROPEAN HERITAGE ACADEMY opened its doors in December 2017, when the first modules were held and offered to the public.

Europe-wide Standards
Our curricula were developed in the course of the EU project “MODI-FY”. Furthermore, they are being evaluated and adapted regularly by the Job Role Committee “Heritage Asset Management”.
